Although sourced and verified, the over categorization of award winners in films from a certain state of India goes to an unnecessary level. The topic "award winners in film from Assam" fails WP:GNG. PROD challenged and rejected. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 05:49, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

- Comment: Assam, with population 26.6 million, is bigger than Australia and all but 48 of the world's nations. For what "X"s do we have "List of awards and winners for films from X"? If there are such list-articles then compiling at level of an Indian state is not obviously bad. But I don't see others within Category:Lists of Indian award winners and it is the only article titled exactly "List of awards and winners for films from...". (There are lots of awards and nominations lists for individual actors and performers, like List of awards and nominations received by Lady Gaga.) --doncram 06:38, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

- Well yes its populated than many countries but also is 15th in population rank within India. That means there is potential of at least 14 more articles if some patriot decides to utilize his time in this remote clubbings. The point here is that how justified it is to have state-wise lists when other categories are already in use. We have these list by awards and list by individuals and then individuals are already clubbed by categories and thereby can be surfed state-wise. This is going bit overboard. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 05:07, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

- Delete for now at best as this is still questionable for its own solid article. Still questionable. SwisterTwister talk 04:22, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

- Delete (WP:LISTCRUFT). The state's population is irrelevant; what matters is whether there are objective characteristics that set aside films from Assam from others (in a cluster analysis sense). I could imagine a claim to cultural difference on the basis of language, but I do not quite see it - on the other hand, maybe non-English sources have better. - Delete. Awards and the state from which films come are not related in a significant way. Clarityfiend (talk) 08:20, 4 May 2016 (UTC)
